They’re paying attention. Wrestling has been shaken up a bit thanks to the rise of AEW. WWE finally has some well funded mainstream competition and that makes things a lot more interesting. You could only have so much WWE dominance before someone finally rose up to challenge them and that is what we are seeing now. AEW has done a lot of good things, and WWE is taking notice.
One of the interesting things about AEW is how different it feels from WWE. The company has gone out of its way to feel more fun and that is what they have managed to make work. There are still a lot of flaws that can be fixed, but one of WWE’s greatest strengths is taking some ideas from other promotions and making those ideas work better. Now they might be trying to do that all over again.
According to Wrestlinginc.com, WWE has sent out a survey to its fans, asking for their thoughts about AEW. The survey includes asking if they watch AEW, what they think of the promotion, what platforms they use to watch the company’s content and what they like or dislike about it. There are also questions about New Japan Pro Wrestling, Ring of Honor and Impact Wrestling.
Both companies have their strong suits. Check out some of their recent positives:
Opinion: Sending out a survey like this is a good thing, but none of it matters if WWE does not learn something from it. Just seeing what is going on and then ignoring it does not help things and WWE has some very deep problems to deal with at the moment. I’m not sure what can be done at the moment, but at least WWE seems to know that something needs to be done. Now go ahead and do whatever that is.
