Well that was fast. We are less than a month away from WrestleMania 37, which is going to be one of the biggest weekends in a very long time. The show is taking place over the course of two straight nights for the second consecutive year and that means things are going to be even bigger than usual. WWE is going to need to do something big for the show and now we know something new.

Earlier this month, Bobby Lashley became the new WWE Champion in a moment over fifteen years in the making. Lashley has been on an absolute roll in recent months and a title reign was long overdue. Part of the problem with having him be so dominant is that he is going to have some trouble finding an opponent. There are only a few challengers who make sense and now we know who is up next.

This week on Monday Night Raw, former two time WWE Champion Drew McIntyre was announced as Lashley’s next challenge for the WWE Championship, with his title shot coming at WrestleMania 37. Lashley attacked McIntyre at Elimination Chamber, allowing Miz to take the title from McIntyre by cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase. McIntyre won the championship at last year’s WrestleMania 36 and successfully defended it against Lashley at Backlash 2020.

These two have been at it before. Check out what we are in for at WrestleMania:

Opinion: This is kind of premature but it’s the only way to go for WrestleMania. The interesting thing here is the fact that WWE is just jumping over Fastlane and not even bothering to have McIntyre beat Sheamus to become #1 contender. It is a logical way to go as McIntyre vs. Lashley has been all but locked in for weeks, but Fastlane continues to look like a nothing show.
