Take five. I’m sure you’re familiar with the concept of the Big Four pay per views. Over the years, WWE has run the Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summerslam and Survivor Series as the top shows of the year. In recent years, they’ve also attacked an NXT Takeover special to the same weekend to make them quite the extravaganza. Now though, the four seems ready to become five.
According to the “Wrestling Observer Newsletter” by way of 411mania.com, WWE is planning to add a fifth Takeover special to the 2018 calendar. This show will take place on June 16, the night before “Money in the Bank 2018”. Much like the other four, this will be attached turned into a big weekend with four straight nights of WWE in the same arena.
With the big stars in town, something like this could happen.
Seth Rollins finally confronts Triple H: NXT TakeOver: San Antonio
Opinion: It’s not like this changes things so it’s hard to really say much about it. There were already five Takeovers in 2017 and that worked out well enough so we might as well do the same thing next year. I can go for the idea of “Money in the Bank” being seen as a major show but they need to cap it at this many instead of expanding even further.
Do you like having a fifth Takeover? When should it take place? Let us know in the comments below.
