That’s a big one. There are certain wrestlers who feel like they are designed to be villains but become stars due to their charisma and talent. Despite what a promotion might want to happen, there is only so much that can be done to avoid the fans cheering them to no end. That appears to be the case with a current WWE Superstar and the change might have been on display this week.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Go For The Gold: WWE Announces Major Title Match For Next Week
This week’s Monday Night Raw featured an in-ring interview with Nia Jax, who said that she was the most dominant star in the women’s division. Jax promised to win the Royal Rumble and move on to win either Women’s Title at WrestleMania 40. Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley came to the ring and confronted Jax, saying she would take Jax out. According to Wrestlingnews.co, this appears to be either a full on babyface turn for Ripley, or at least part of one. It also comes during times of tension in Ripley’s Judgment Day stable, including arguments with Damian Priest. No match between Ripley and Jax was announced.
It could be a good one. Check out the segment, plus Ripley in action:
Opinion: This could make for an interesting situation, but at the end of the day, Ripley has seemed to be turning rather quickly in recent months. She has so much talent and charisma that it is almost impossible to ignore her. Ripley as the unstoppable monster champion has worked, but having her as someone who embraces the fans while still being that awesome could work out rather well.
What do you think of the idea? How would Ripley do on the good side? Let us know in the comments below.
