Money isn’t everything. Over the last few weeks, Lio Rush has been having some issues with WWE, possibly leading to the end of his career with the company. Rush has been said to have heat backstage that has led to the locker room wanting him out and WWE not being happy with him either. As it turns out, Rush might have made a decision that WWE did not see in the best light.
According to PWInsider.com by way of 411mania.com, Rush was recently offered a five year, $300,000 deal (it is not clear if that is the total value or per year) but turned it down, asking for double that amount instead. WWE was not interested in doubling their offer to him. Rush’s current contract expires at some point in 2020 and he has not appeared on WWE TV in the last two weeks.
Rush certainly has some skills. Check him out against Finn Balor:
Opinion: I’d have to assume that the contract is over five years rather than that price every year for five years, as that is quite a contract for a manager who rarely wrestles. Rush is a great talker, but there is only so much that WWE can handle from him. If the stories of his backstage attitudes are accurate, his value is not going to look quite as high, which seems to already be the case.
Do you like Rush? Will he ever be back on WWE TV? Let us know in the comments below.
