It’s not like they have anything to lose. While there are a lot of places for wrestlers to work in WWE, there are a lot more wrestlers, many of whom have no place to regularly work. That isn’t the best situation for a lot of them, as there are several wrestlers who would rather regularly work than sit around collecting a check until their contract is up. There’s a solution to that, and WWE might be trying it out.

During 2019, a lot of wrestlers did not seem thrilled with their status in WWE and one of them with the most complaints was Mike Kanellis. The gist of his problem was that he wanted to wrestle more than once a week or so, but WWE did not see it he same way. Instead he was given a short angle involving his wife Maria cheating on him and then disappeared from television. Now though, things might be changing a bit.

According to PWInsider.com, Kanellis was in action over the weekend at an NXT live event in Melbourne, Florida, teaming with Tony Nese to defeat Nick Ogarelli and Mohamed. This was Kanellis’ first match since the September 24 SmackDown, when he lost to Chad Gable. The loss to Gable was his third consecutive loss, none of which lasted more than seventy seconds total.

Kanellis has quite the story. Check out what brought him to WWE:

Opinion: It’s better than nothing. Kanellis is someone who can go out there and have a passable match so I don’t see why WWE refuses to let him do anything. They can’t throw him on house shows for a few eight to ten minute matches a week? It’s not like you have to make him the next World Champion or anything, but leaving him on the sidelines for months at a time is a bit extreme.

What do you think of Kanellis? Should he be used more frequently? Let us know in the comments below.
