Fancy seeing you here. The Royal Rumble is one of the most interesting matches of the year for a variety of reasons. It sets up the biggest match of the year with the main event of WrestleMania, but it can also be a way for wrestlers to get a fresh start. There are a lot of spots available in the match and that means we can see some people we haven’t seen before. That may be the case this year.

Between the two Royal Rumbles, there are sixty spots available for wrestlers to enter. Some of these names have already been announced and several more of them will be set up before we get to Houston for the pay per view. However, there are going to be some names left open for surprise entries, some of which will be wrestlers making their returns. We might know who a few of them are.

According to PWInsider.com, former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal and former NXT North American Champion Velveteen Dream will be in Houston for the Royal Rumble. While there is no confirmation that either will be appearing at the show, they will both be present and possible entrants. Mahal has not wrestled since June due to a torn ACL while Dream has been out of action since October with a back injury.

Both could make for a big surprise. Check out the two of them when they are healthy:

Opinion: I’m not sure how big of a deal Mahal would be but having Velveteen Dream getting to do one of his grand entrances on a huge stage like the Royal Rumble could work very well. He is made for the big events like this one and has been gone long enough that the fans miss him. There is a very good chance that neither will be in the match, but either could make for quite the surprise.

Will either be in the match? What do you see either of them doing next? Let us know in the comments below.
