It does make sense. This week on Monday Night Raw, Roman Reigns shocked the wrestling world by announcing that due to the return of his leukemia, he was being forced to vacate the Universal Title. While there are far more important things to worry about at the moment, one question that came up was what would happen to the title, which was set to be defended next week at Crown Jewel. The answer was announced by the end of the show.
As announced this week on Monday Night Raw, the Universal Title will be decided in a singles match between Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar. The two of them had been scheduled to challenge Reigns for the Universal Title at Crown Jewel. Lesnar and Strowman have fought for the title before, with Strowman challenging for the Universal Title at No Mercy 2017.
I wonder what Paul Heyman has to say on the subject.
Opinion: I don’t think they have anything else to do here and that’s really all you could ask for. Strowman is likely walking out as champion and it would make sense to go with him, as Lesnar seems ready to leave and Strowman already has a built in feud with Drew McIntyre. It may not be the most ideal situation in the world, but I’d rather have this than something thrown together at the last minute.
Who do you think leaves with the title? How long will the new champion hold the title? Let us know in the comments below.
