The hometown girl. Bayley’s recently separated shoulder threw a monkey wrench into the plans for the Raw Women’s Title as Bayley could no longer challenge for the title at “Summerslam 2017”. Therefore Alexa Bliss needed a new #1 contender and that’s exactly what we got this week.
Tonight on “Monday Night Raw”, Sasha Banks defeated Nia Jax with the Bank Statement to become the new #1 contender. The two of them earned their spots in this match by winning triple threat matches last week. Banks has also defeated Bliss via countout earlier in the summer in a title match.
What was Banks thinking coming into her #1 contenders’ match?
Boston's own Sasha Banks is ready to begin her SummerSlam journey in Beantown: Aug. 14, 2017
Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise in the world but it’s nice to see the logical move in Banks’ hometown. Banks vs. Bliss is the more logical move and if it leads to Banks vs. Bayley for the title at “Wrestlemania XXXIV”, that’s all the better. Jax will be fine when she gets to be the monster again so there aren’t many negatives in this whole thing.
Do you think Banks wins the title? Who will she feud with next? Let us know in the comments below.
