One more for the blue guys. With “Monday Night Raw’s” audience falling by the week, it’s clear that something needs to boost up WWE’s TV numbers. As luck would have it, WWE has another major TV show that airs live on the same network and can draw in an audience of its own. The question is can “Smackdown Live” draw an audience of its own.

The answer is not this week, as the audience for the show was down. According to Showbuzz Daily, this week’s show drew a .75 rating and 2.3 million viewers, which are even with and down 8% from last week’s numbers. These numbers are tied for the lowest of the year and the lowest of the year respectfully.

Opinion: It was an NBA night and there’s not much of a way around that. Specialty programming like that is almost always going to crush WWE and anything else. Given that “Smackdown Live” was the fourth highest rated cable show of the night after the two playoff games and “Inside the NBA”, it’s fairly clear that there’s one major reason why WWE is in trouble, though they’re not doing themselves any favors either.
