Here we go again. Something you might not have realized is that Miz is closing in on a record that was considered fairly safe. Despite being looked at as someone with little in-ring skills, Miz is now tied for the second most Intercontinental Title reigns in history. Miz’s six reigns are tied with Jeff Jarrett and Rob Van Dam and second only to Chris Jericho’s nine. After this week’s “Monday Night Raw”, that number has a chance to increase.

This week, Miz won a triple threat match to become the #1 contender to the Intercontinental Title, currently held by Dean Ambrose. Miz pinned Finn Balor after interference from Bray Wyatt while Seth Rollins was down on the floor. There is no word on when the title match will take place but “Extreme Rules 2017” seems to be a likely option.

Opinion: I can always go for Miz winning another Intercontinental Title. He’s almost perfect for the thing and since there’s nothing else for him to do on “Monday Night Raw” with the Universal Title in the deep freeze, it makes as much sense as anything else to just let Miz run with the Intercontinental Title.
