Special appearance. While WWE gets the most attention in the wrestling world, it is one of several promotions around. Several of these promotions are in smaller areas and feature a more specific style, which can make for some interesting moments. It can be a very big deal when a more famous star shows up at one of those smaller shows and that took place again this weekend.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: VIDEO: Former AEW Champion Makes Surprise Return After Year Plus Absence
WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley made a surprise appearance at this weekend’s ICW No Holds Barred event in Newark, New Jersey. Foley, dressed as Santa Claus, attacked John Wayne Murdoch with a double arm DDT and hit him with a barbed wire baseball bat, allowing Tara Zep to defeat Murdoch. There is nothing to suggest that this will lead to Foley returning to the ring. His most recent match took place in 2012.
This was certainly different. Check out Foley’s appearance, plus some of his better moments:
Opinion: Foley has quite the reputation for popping up all over the place and as a result, this is hardly the biggest surprise. I really hope he isn’t going to get back in the ring at any point in the future as he is so far removed from his career, but doing something like this, even at a small show, is fine for a one off moment. If nothing else, Foley as Santa is always good for a smile.
