Boomer Sooner: Jim Ross Offers Update On His Health Status, Thoughts On Returning To AEW TV

It’s an important problem. There are all kinds of people who work together to make a wrestling show work, with many of them having nothing to do with the wrestling itself. Those people will often be stars in their own right, which includes members of the broadcast teams. You will see the same people on television on a regular basis, but now one of them is out of action with some health issues. He has since given an update on how things are going.

Earlier this year, AEW broadcaster Jim Ross stepped away from his duties with the company to deal with health issues. During a recent edition of his Grilling JR podcast, Ross offered an update on his health status. Ross said that he was feeling good and dealing with his blood sugar, which was causing issues with his foot healing following treatment for skin cancer. Ross’ blood sugar was “death material high” but has since gone down, with the goal to keep it at a lower level. Ross said that he was not sure when he would be back in AEW, but that he was not worried about it after 50 years in wrestling. He also thanked fans for their well wishes.

Opinion: Things do seem to be moving in the right direction for Ross and that is more important than anything he is going to do in AEW. Ross’ legacy in wrestling has long since been established and while it would be nice to have him adding to his time behind the microphone, there are things that matter more than his career. Thankfully Ross seems to understand that and now we get to see how what is next for him.
