Nope: Update On The AEW Devil’s Identity, Major Name Not Expected To Be Revealed

That’s one. There are all kinds of wrestling storylines that have been used throughout the years but some of them keep coming back. One of the best is a masked person who pops in and does something over and over without their identity being known. This can lead to quite the discussion over who might or might not be under the mask. That story is being used again today and now we know one name it does not seem to be.

Over the last few months, a person in a Devil mask, along with a group of henchmen, have attacked several people backstage in AEW. This has led to speculation about the Devil’s identity as he has yet to be unmasked. According to Fightful Select, Jack Perry is not expected to be revealed as the Devil. This week on Dynamite, the Devil’s henchmen put Hangman Page through a car window, which echoed Perry’s issues with CM Punk over using real glass in a segment. Perry was recently reinstated following a suspension but he has yet to return to AEW TV.

Opinion: This is one of those stories that could go in a variety of ways, but at the same time, there are only so many options to really make it work. The story has been built up for so long now that a lot of reveals could be a letdown and that makes things complicated. Hopefully the reveal works as well as possible, as AEW has put quite a bit of effort into the whole thing.
