Celebrity meets wrestling. There has been celebrity involvement in wrestling for decades now and that is not going to stop at any time in the near future. It is an idea that works perfectly well: sometimes you find someone famous who is willing to do something in the wrestling world. That is always going to draw some interest and some promotions may have another chance in the future.
Nostalgia is one of the strongest powers in any form of entertainment. There is something about being able to look back at a time when you might have enjoyed things more and see them again. That is the case with wrestling as well, as most promotions like to see what they can pull out of the past. Now we might be seeing a nostalgic celebrity getting involved with wrestling.
Actress Danielle Fishel Karp, best known as Topanga from Boy Meets World, was a guest on Wrestling With Will and mentioned that she would like to be a wrestling manager. Fishel Karp said that she wanted to be a wrestler but will be turning forty years old soon and knew that her body would hate her for trying. She has dabbled in wrestling before and be one of the presenters at the AEW Dynamite Awards later this month and has appeared on New Day’s podcast before.
She’s one of us. Check out Fishel Karp’s interview and involvement with wrestling:
Opinion: This might not work out in WWE but I could easily see this as a cameo on AEW or an independent promotion. If nothing else, just having her there for the nostalgia of being a fan of the 1990s would be more than enough. It’s always cool to hear a celebrity who is clearly a die hard fan, which is obviously the case with Fishel Karp. I could go with having her make a cameo, and it seems like something she would love.
