For whom the reunion bell tolls. Earlier this year, John Cena, acting like quite a bit of a jerk, called out Undertaker to DO SOMETHING as we rolled into New Orleans for WrestleMania 34. The question became would Undertaker show up and if so, what would he do. Well Undertaker did show up and squashed Cena in less than three minutes, showing he had at least a little something left. He wrestled again later that month, but he wasn’t in action again after that….until this weekend.
WWE has posted a video on its Instagram page, showing Undertaker getting the hot tag at the end of a six man tag at Saturday’s house show in Madison Square Garden. Undertaker was teaming up with Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns to defeat Kevin Owens, Baron Corbin and Elias. Undertaker won the match for his team with a Tombstone on Owens. This was Undertaker’s first match since the Greatest Royal Rumble on April 27.
Opinion: I’m not someone who needs to see Undertaker ever wrestle again but he’s certainly still an attraction and someone who has had an amazing run with the company. Sticking him in there as part of a six man tag in front of a crowd that is going to respect him is worth the time as it’s not like he’s taking away a spot that anyone else is dying for at the moment. This is a house show on a Saturday night, not the main event of WrestleMania. If nothing else, let the fans have a reason to want to come back, just to see what WWE has for them next time.
