That’s how you end a night. There are a lot of wrestlers on the WWE roster and that means it can be difficult to get them all on television in a given week. Even though there are several television shows and rosters available, there are only so many spots to put all of the wrestlers in. Sometimes WWE can add in a few extra spots before or after a show and that is what they did with two of their biggest names this week.
There are very few names in WWE more popular than Daniel Bryan. Over the years, he has built up a reputation as one of the most talented in-ring performers of all time while also coming off like a person you could get to know in the real world. That makes him easy to cheer for, especially when he’s a big underdog. That was the case after this week’s SmackDown went off the air.
This week’s SmackDown post show dark match saw the Fiend defeat Bryan in a singles match with Sister Abigail after countering the running knee into the Mandible Claw. Bryan and the Fiend feuded for several months in late 2019 and early 2020 with Fiend getting the better of Bryan every time. Both Bryan and the Fiend appeared on SmackDown, albeit in backstage segments.
It was a heck of a fight. Check out how it went down:
Opinion: This is one of the easier dark matches that you can do as it’s a match that has a history, as well as featuring two stars. Bryan is one of the most likable wrestlers in the world and Fiend is someone that is more of an experience than anything else. It gives the fans a reason to want to stick around and that’s how you make for a special match. Let the people have some fun and go home feeling like they’ve seen something they’ll remember.
Which of these two has the brighter future? What do you see Bryan doing at WrestleMania? Let us know in the comments below.
