These things are never a good idea. With Royal Wedding fever sweeping America, you knew WWE was going to get in on the deal. Weddings have been a plot device in wrestling for years and normally not in a good way. Be it everything falling apart to someone going into a cake, bad things are bound to happen one or another. There’s a long history of it too and you should know what that means.
If you don’t, I do.
Opinion: There’s a reason these things work so well. Weddings are the kind of things that people universally understand and there’s a certain connection that you can feel watching them. On top of that though, at least in wrestling, there’s always the feeling that something is going to go horribly wrong, giving it that good old fashioned car crash appeal. This idea has worked for a very long time and it would work again, just for the pure spectacle of the whole thing.
