There’s more to battle royals than the Royal Rumble. Battle royals have been a staple of wrestling for a long time now. It’s such a simple concept: throw everyone into the ring and the last man standing wins. That’s something that anyone can understand and get as they watch the match. Over the years it’s something that has been done to get someone somewhere in a hurry, and that’s worthy of a look back.
There’s a lot to look at here. Check out another great WWE countdown video:
WWE has released a new Top Ten video looking at the Biggest Battle Royal Victories. The video looks back throughout history at various great battle royal endings, with a wide range of matches and moments over the years. Some of these were for bragging rights but others were for either a title shot or a title itself. The list ranges from 1986 to last week, with various points in between being covered.
Opinion: There’s something so simple about a battle royal. It allows you to have someone win a match without pinning someone else and also gives you a unique looking match that offers some matchups you might not get otherwise. While the matches themselves might not always work, they’re often one of the best ways to go about setting up a #1 contender or whatever else you need done.
Which of these is your favorite? Did WWE get the top spot right? Let us know in the comments below.
