It’s showtime folks! Sting is easily one of the biggest names in the history of wrestling. While you may not see him in WWE too often as he only wrestled a handful of matches there over the years, you will see him in Impact Wrestling (TNA at the time) quite often. He wrestled there for ten years, putting it nearly as long as his tenure in WCW. With that long of a career, he had to start somewhere and since Impact Wrestling has been opening its video vault, I think you know where this is going.

At least it wasn’t the Joker Sting yet.

Sting Debuts at IMPACT's 1st Anniversary Show (NWA-TNA PPV #50) | Classic IMPACT Moments

Impact Wrestling has released the video of Sting’s in-ring debut with the company from their 50th Weekly Pay Per View on June 18, 2003, which was the company’s first anniversary show. Sting was the partner of Jeff Jarrett to face then NWA World Champion AJ Styles and his mystery partner Syxx-Pac. This was Sting’s first major American match in over two years since the death of WCW in 2001. Sting’s arrival had been announced in advance and after this appearance, he would not wrestle again for the promotion until November of the same year.

Opinion: I’m liking this idea of Impact Wrestling opening the vault up a little bit more. I know they’re not the most popular company in the world among some wrestling fans, but at the same time they have a deep history with nearly sixteen years of wrestling to look at. Getting Sting was a major coup and it’s rather awesome to think that they managed to hold onto him for that long. Sting had some major moments in the promotion and it was quite entertaining to watch at times.
