By any name. A wrestler’s name is one of the most important things that they can have. The wrong name can derail someone’s career in a hurry and that is the kind of thing that you always want to avoid. Most of the time a wrestler is going to keep the same name for most of their career, but that is not the case with a current star, even though he came in with a somewhat well known name.
One of the things that AEW has done rather well so far is bring in some fresh stars who are unknowns to the wrestling world. That is quite the difficult feat to accomplish these days as so many wrestlers have been seen almost everywhere. If nothing else, it makes for quite the moment when a wrestler shows up out of nowhere and makes an impact. That was the case last year, but now they are undergoing a change.
During this week’s edition of NXT UK, a video of Ben Carter aired, announcing that his new ring name would be Nathan Frazer. In the video, Frazer stated that he wanted a fresh start in the new company, which led to the change. This comes after Frazer wrestled two matches for NXT UK under his previous name. Frazer had appeared for AEW last spring before signing with WWE in late 2020.
??? changes are coming.
I’ve got a new story to write… and it looks nothing like my last.
Tune into @NXTUK this Thursday. pic.twitter.com/eJh9P8ukVm

This changes things. Check out the announcement and Frazer’s time as Carter:
Opinion: If there is one thing that you can count on, it is WWE changing names like this. It isn’t really that much better of a name as both are pretty simple, but after debuting as Carter, why change now? Is it really that hard to get a name together before you have him debut? It isn’t going to derail his career or even come close, but it’s such a WWE Thing to do at this point.
