Not so fast? There is a lot of wrestling television these days and that has been the case for a good while now. Some of the shows are a bit better than others, but they are still all part of the same sport. It is a rare treat to find a consistently good show but when you find one of that quality, it is certainly worth your time. One such show might not be changing as soon as expected.

The Wednesday Night Wars have been one of the more interesting things to happen to professional wrestling in a good while. It has been a lot of fun to see both NXT and AEW Dynamite taking place on the same night. Both shows have been rather good for a long time now and that seems like it will be the case for a good while to come. Something else might be the case for a long time as well.

According to the Sports Business Journal and the New York Times, the Walt Disney has agreed to a deal with the NHL, which will bring the league’s games to both ABC and ESPN. The NHL is still trying to find a home for a second coverage partner, which could be purchased by NBC. If NBC does get the rights, it would likely mean that the games would air weekly on USA, meaning NXT would be moved to Tuesday nights, as has been rumored recently. Otherwise, the show is likely to stay on Wednesday nights as usual. NBC and the NHL are said to be far apart on price at the moment.

NXT has done well on Wednesdays. Check out some of their better moments:

Opinion: I’m still pulling for the move to Tuesdays as it can get rather annoying trying to watch both shows back to back every Wednesday. It would be nice to be able to have them on back to back nights, just for the sake of enjoying them a bit more. That is still a possibility, and it would certainly be interesting to see what both shows can do with no direct wrestling competition.
