It can go on his resume. Wrestlers are a weird breed of entertainers. While they are professional athletes, they also have to portray characters on national and often international television every week. That is not an easy thing to pull off but they manage to make it work well enough. Some wrestlers have some acting abilities, but ultimately it is not what they do. This week saw a more traditional actor around for a change.
If there is one way to describe most wrestling characters, it would be over the top. Wrestlers are supposed to be people who get your attention in a hurry and that is the kind of thing that can make them all the more ripe for parody. Sometimes these parodies take place on television, and this week’s Monday Night Raw saw a pair of parodies, including one by a better known television actor.
This week’s Monday Night Raw featured a cameo from actor David Krumholtz on the Dirt Sheet. Krumholtz, who was not mentioned by name, appeared as a parody of Drew McIntyre, including a wig and kilt, which had trouble staying up. Krumholtz is best known for the series Numb3rs and the first two Santa Clause films. The segment also included the return of Gillberg, who has parodied Goldberg since 1998.
This was kind of surreal. Check out how things went down:
Opinion: Now this is a weird one as I have no idea why someone who has some significant acting credits on his resume would be involved, unidentified in something like this. It wasn’t even anything clever, but rather one of the same parody deals that WWE has done for years. Maybe Krumholtz is a wrestling fan and wanted to do it, but otherwise this is a rather bizarre choice to make.
