That’s great to see. Contrary to what it may seem at times, wrestlers are human beings just like any normal person. Yes they are on television every week and do some rather impressive things, but they have all of the same run of the mill problems that anyone else has. That can include health issues, so it is nice to see someone getting over something wrong with them. That was the case again this week.

Back in 1998, there was no one hotter in WCW than Goldberg. He was a rather simple wrestler but the amount of intensity that he displayed on any given week could not be ignored. That is the kind of thing that made him ripe for parody and that is what happened with Gillberg, a new persona of long time low level wrestler Duane Gill. Things have not been going well for Gill in recent weeks, but now things are going a bit better.

Gillberg made a surprise return this week on Monday Night Raw, appearing on an episode of the Dirt Sheet after Miz and John Morrison had promised Goldberg. Gillberg confronted a miniature version of Drew McIntyre as part of the build to Goldberg vs. McIntyre at the Royal Rumble. This appearance comes less than two months after Gill had a heart attack that sent him to the intensive care unit.

Opinion: I know Gill isn’t a big star and is best known as a parody of a much more famous wrestler, but it’s great to see someone on television again just two months after a life threatening medical issue. Not everyone gets to do something like that and it’s awesome that he is healthy enough to already be back. I know it’s just a one off, but it made me smile to see someone with those issues making another cameo.
