Video: Johnny Gargano Returns Home for Final NXT Match

Welcome home. Back at “Takeover: Philadelphia”, Johnny Gargano became the biggest star in NXT when he unsuccessfully challenged Andrade Cien Almas for the NXT Title. The match was an instant classic and spawned a rematch, which was quite a match in its own right. Unfortunately the second loss cost Gargano his NXT career, but he had a few matches left to take care of first.

WWE has released a video showing Gargano’s last match in NXT, which took place on Friday in Gargano’s hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. Gargano and his wife Candice LeRae teamed together to face Almas and his business associate Zelina Vega. The reaction was so strong that WWE has released a video of Gargano’s entrance.

Opinion: I don’t think there’s any real secret to the fact that Gargano is going to be back in NXT.  You can almost guarantee a match against Tommaso Ciampa in New Orleans at least.  That being said, they’re doing a great job of making you believe that something is going on here and that’s a big part of what makes NXT work so well.

The rematch was great too.
