It’s time for someone new. AEW is the new kid on the block in wrestling and yet they are already the absolute second biggest wrestling promotion in the world. No one has started that fast in a very long time and while it is easy to forget, they have only been around for a few months now. Things are still coming together for them and that means they are going to get some fresh talent, which took place on Wednesday.

One of the most efficient ways to bring new talent into a promotion is to bring in an act that has worked elsewhere before. It gives you some people you know in the first place who already have something that works well. Going this way can also make things a lot easier on the promotion as they don’t have to risk something going bad and damaging any of their existing talent. AEW factored all of this in for one of their new teams.

This week on AEW Dynamite, a new tag team debuted as the Butcher (Andy Williams) and the Blade (Braxton Sutter) debuted to attack Cody. The two appeared from underneath the ring and attacked Cody after he won a match. Commentator Excalibur knew their names but nothing else about them. The team was joined by Allie, Sutter’s wife. They have wrestled together extensively in Beyond Wrestling.

It was a heck of a debut. Check out the full segment:

Opinion: It’s something that makes enough sense, though AEW is flooded with tag teams at the moment and bringing in another one may not seem like the best idea in the world. That being said, AEW is also a young enough company that they need to throw some stuff out there and see what they can make work. You never know until you try and maybe these guys can do something for the company.

Did you like the debut? Could it have been done better? Let us know in the comments below.
