This is very behind the scenes of NXT. As wrestling fans, we love behind the scenes material. It is very hard to find though, making such clips all the more interesting. Back in the 1990s, you would occasionally hear the satellite feeds from wrestling shows and get to hear the inner workings play out. Some of these clips have been around forever and now, we have a much longer version, including some video to back it up.
This kind of thing has happened before. Check out some WWE satellite footage from the 90s (the audio is fascinating):
According to Vice.com, WWE uploaded a video to its YouTube page showing the entire preparation for a recent NXT UK taping. The video was unlisted and private but a glitch allowed it to be seen for a short time. The video includes:
* 35 minutes of rehearsals
* Almost 150 minutes of a black screen
* The entire taping of the event
* Announcers Tom Phillips and Nigel McGuinness’s off-air banter
* Phillips, McGuinness, and ring announcer Andy Shepherd re-recording lines
* Every word said into staffers’ headsets and earpieces by their producer
There are several clips from the video, including warmup matches and audio with the production staff telling wrestlers what to do and what to expect, as well as rehearsals for later in the night in the empty arena and errors that would be edited out later. The taping seems to be from an NXT UK taping earlier this month from Essex, England and features rehearsals for matches that took place on those shows.
Here are some of the videos:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that you never see in wrestling and that makes it so much more entertaining. There are very few of these out there and just hearing what kind of thoughts and mindset goes into the production is great. WWE has a whole different world and getting a glimpse like this is something that is very fun. Odds are it will be a long time before we see it again, so enjoy it while you can.
