He knows how to be an enforcer. Tonight saw the return of Starrcade (close enough at least), the Wrestlemania of the NWA/WCW in its first city of Greensboro, North Carolina. While the wrestling was focused on WWE, there were some legend appearances by famous WCW/NWA names. Thankfully, one such clip was released on WWE’s YouTube page.
Tonight at the “Starrcade 2017” event, Arn Anderson was serving as a special enforcer for the Dolph Ziggler vs. Bobby Roode match. During the match, Ziggler tried to use a chair but Anderson took it away. Ziggler punched him in the face but Anderson got up and gave Ziggler a spinebuster (which Anderson popularized and was once called the Anderson Drop). Roode won the match with the Glorious DDT a few seconds later. Here’s the clip of the event.
Arn Anderson lays down the law as Special Guest Enforcer at Starrcade: Exclusive, Nov. 25, 2017
Opinion: This is one of the things that you had to have at a show like “Starrcade”. Anderson is a legend in this area, even though he might not be the most famous in WWE. It gave the fans something to cheer for and made the match feel special, which is something you don’t get at a house show very often. While I would have liked to see this on the Network, a clip of something like this is rather cool.
What is your favorite Anderson match? How good was his WCW theme music? Let us know in the comments below.
