It would seem to help. The Coronavirus has changed almost everything for WWE and that is likely going to be the case for a long time to come. There is very little that can be done at the moment but WWE is doing their best with the resources that they have available. This includes working from Tropicana Field for their major television shows, though now they have made a bit of a change.
One of the biggest issues with WWE has been facing is the lack of live fans for its television shows. The empty buildings take away so much of the atmosphere from the shows and keeps wrestlers from having any kind of life feedback. That is the kind of thing that can throw a wrestler’s timing off but now WWE has made a change that could help out a good bit.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the wrestlers can now hear the crowd noise that WWE pipes into the Thunderdome. This is a change from when the Thunderdome originally began and the wrestlers were performing in silence. Producer Tyson Kidd is credited with the idea of the change as he felt being able to hear some kind of noise would help the wrestlers during their matches.
A crowd reaction can help a lot. Check out some of the better ones in WWE history:
Opinion: This makes all the sense in the world and even though I’m not wild on having WWE shows having crowd noise despite not having crowds, it must help the wrestlers a lot. These wrestlers have been doing things the same way for years so being in the middle of the baseball stadium with silence would probably throw them entirely off. Hopefully things can be back to normal soon enough, but for now this makes sense.
