Not the best kind of headline. One of the most appealing things about watching wrestling, either WWE or elsewhere, is the feeling that you’re seeing superheroes on TV. These people are meant to be larger than life characters who can do things that no one else ever could. While that is what you see on television, it isn’t true outside of the ring, where the wrestlers are every bit as human as anyone else, meaning they make mistakes.
According to TMZ.com, Terri Runnels was arrested at the Tampa, Florida airport for bringing a gun onto a flight. The maximum penalty for such an offense is a $5,000 fine and up to five years in prison. As of this writing, she is still in jail on a $2,000 bond. The gun was loaded with Runnels saying that she forgot the gun was in the bag. She was on her way to her mother’s house to deal with an armadillo that was damaging the property. Her mug shot has been released.

Runnels was popular enough to be honored at last year’s Raw 25. Check out her special feature:
Opinion: I’m not sure what happened here but there is a possibility that it was just a genuine mistake. That being said, having a loaded gun in your bag isn’t the best thing in the world no matter what. Maybe she was taking it to deal with the armadillo or maybe she just forgot about it, but that doesn’t make it something that can just be written off. It’s possible that she can get off without much punishment, but this could have been a lot worse.
