History has been made! Titles are probably the most important thing in all of wrestling, as they are the ultimate plot device. A promotion can run a title match and have no other explanation required, as the idea of two people fighting over a championship is all you need to make a feud work at times. Seeing a title change take place can change the way a promotion works and that might be the case again.

There are all kinds of stories involving titles and one of the classics is someone trying to get another title shot. That is what Impact Wrestling has been doing as of late with Rohit Raju and the X-Division Title. TJP is no longer allowed to have another title shot but he has been trying to find a way around the stipulation. Now things might have changed all over again thanks to a surprise.

Manik defeated Raju to become the new X-Division Champion at Saturday’s Final Resolution event. Manik is a masked man and a former incarnation of TJP, who did not appear on the show. This is the second reign for Manik, who also wrestled under the name of Suicide and has been portrayed by different people throughout the years. TJP portrayed him at Final Resolution, as evidenced by his tattoos.

It was a cool moment. Check out how we got here:

Opinion: The Midnight Rider idea has worked in wrestling for years and it can work again here. Having Raju trying to prove who TJP really is will work out perfectly fine and I could go for seeing it again. Both of them have gotten a lot out of this story so hopefully they are able to follow up on what they have already done. There is nothing wrong with dusting off the classics and it seems that they can make it work all over again.
