It’s a good way to start. Stomping Grounds saw more action than some fans might have predicted with multiple title changes taking place during the evening. One of those title changes saw Ricochet winning the United States Title from Samoa Joe. With the title win out of the way, Ricochet did not get to enjoy his title reign for very long as someone has already thrown their hat in the ring to come after the title.
During the show, AJ Styles and the Good Brothers came up to Ricochet in the back to congratulate the new champion. Styles was not done though as he promised to see Ricochet on Monday Night Raw. After Stomping Grounds was over, WWE.com has confirmed that Styles will face Ricochet on Monday Night Raw in a non-title match. This will be their first singles match against each other in WWE.
Ricochet did have some time to celebrate his win. Check out his reaction to becoming champion:
Opinion: Well if you insist. This just happens to be a match that sounds incredible on paper, but more importantly it shows that WWE seems serious about making Ricochet into a star. He has been a success just about everywhere he has gone and it would make sense to push him like this. A win over Styles could be a huge deal, though I don’t think tomorrow is going to be the end of the story.
