Kevin Owens defeated Santos Escobar this week on SmackDown to win the #1 contenders tournament, earning a shot at Logan Paul and the United States Title at the Royal Rumble. Opinion: Given how the feud tournament was set up in the first place, I don’t think this is the biggest shock. The tournament itself never felt in doubt but what matters is giving the fans some good action on the way there. Now we have a title match to look forward to and WWE has done a rather good job with making it feel important. I’m not sure if Owens is going to win the title, but they’ve set things up in the right way.
