It would make people leave. The biggest WWE story in in the last week and a half has been the barrage of releases from the company. Ten names were let go from the company on April 15 and it has left quite the aftermath. There have been statements from wrestlers and stories of how things went in the company, and now we might have another idea of why someone left.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Kalisto was let go from WWE due to creative differences. Kalisto had been a part of the Lucha House Party with Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado but had wanted to go off on his own again. WWE was not interested in having Kalisto as a singles wrestler, though they did shoot an angle where the trio broke up, allowing Dorado and Metalik to continue as a team with Kalisto being written out. Kalisto’s last match was in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the April 9 SmackDown, which was his first match since Survivor Series in November.
Kalisto debuted for WWE in 2013 and spent nearly two years in NXT. During his time there, he and Sin Cara formed the Lucha Dragons, eventually becoming the NXT Tag Team Champions. The team moved on to the main roster before splitting, with Kalisto moving on to become a two time United States Champion. Eventually he moved on to become part of Lucha House Party starting in 2018.
Opinion: I can’t say I blame Kalisto for not being happy as part of the Lucha House Party, which was never presented as anything more than a lower card faction. The trio would appear on television fairly often, but there is not much you can do when your purpose is to make people smile without being too serious. Kalisto is very talented though and he will get a job somewhere as soon as he is allowed to do so.
