There’s one you might not have guessed. WWE is in a bit of a state of flux at the moment, as the dust is still settling from WrestleMania 37. As usual, the show was the biggest event of the year and saw all kinds of changes that are going to help redefine the company for a long time to come. This included a title change, and the new champion is credited a surprising name for her success.
There are all kinds of success stories from NXT and some of them have moved up to the main roster with all kinds of star power. Several of the stars of NXT have become even bigger stars on the main roster and a lot of that is due to some of the coaching they have received in developmental. Now one of the biggest success stories has revealed someone who had a bit influence on her career.
In a new interview with Metro UK, new Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley talked about the influence that Scotty 2 Hotty had on both herself and new NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez. Ripley said that she and Gonzalez were the only too women in Scotty’s class in NXT and he helped them through some of their tougher times. She also says that without him, you would not see the Ripley and Gonzalez that you see today.
This is a rather unique trio. Check out all three of them in action:
Opinion: I love seeing this kind of thing as who would have guessed this otherwise? Scotty is certainly a well known name in wrestling but who in the world would have expected him to have been this influential? It’s also great to see Ripley giving credit where it is due to someone who helped her career so much. Scotty has a reputation of being a nice guy and it seems that he is quite the teacher as well.
