That isn’t the most positive sign. Sometimes, you find a wrestler and a company which just do not mesh together. This could be the case for a variety of reasons and sometimes it is not something that is going to go well in the long run. It isn’t either side’s fault and the whole situation is often going to mess up in the end. We may be in a situation like that in the moment with WWE and another development is not looking well.
Rusev is one of the more fascinating cases in WWE over the last few years. It seems that he has been ready to move up to the next level for years now but for some reason it never happens. Things got even worse earlier this year as Rusev was mostly dominated in a feud with Bobby Lashley where he also lost his wife. As a result, things are getting even worse between the two sides.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Rusev was removed from the Tuwaiq Trophy Gauntlet match at Super ShowDown because he backed out of the match. It is not clear what that means specifically, but there is no word on what this means for his future. The internal story is that Rusev has a back injury, but apparently this is not why he was taken out of the match. Rusev last wrestled on the February 17 episode of Monday Night Raw. He has since been replaced in the Super ShowDown match by Rey Mysterio.
Rusev has had some better days. Check out some of his positive moments:
Opinion: I’m not sure what to make of this but I don’t see it ending well. Rusev is someone with all the talent and charisma that you could ask for but it has never clicked like it should in the company. Maybe he just doesn’t fit in with their plans, though I’m not sure how that works. You would think WWE would see what he can do and what kind of reactions he gets but apparently that isn’t the case either now, or likely in the future.
Do you think Rusev will be a World Champion in WWE? Will he leave the company soon? Let us know in the comments below.
