Talk To Me? 48 Year Old Former WWE Superstar Reportedly Held Talks With AEW About Coming In

Come on over? There are all kinds of talented wrestlers in the world and many of them work for either WWE or AEW. It can make a big difference when one of them jumps over to another promotion, which can also lead to some interesting speculation if someone is even considering such a move. Now we are seeing that again, with a former WWE Superstar at least talking to AEW.

According to Fightful Select, AEW has been in talks with former WWE Superstar Shelton Benjamin about possibly coming in. It is not clear whether this would be a one off appearance or regular appearances, with the talks taking place “about a month ago”. There is no word on how far along the talks have gone Benjamin was released from WWE in September 2023 and his no compete clause ended in December 2023, meaning he can sign anywhere, anytime.

Opinion: Benjamin would be a good pickup for AEW, if nothing else as a potential trainer. He has been around for over twenty years and has had quite the level of success. It would be great for AEW to bring him in, as he could offer some more credibility to the roster while also having some strong matches. If nothing else, it makes for some interesting options and that is always fun.
