During a recent edition of his Six Feet Under podcast, the Undertaker told a story of CM Punk challenging Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin to grappling contests during a flight to Baghdad for Tribute To The Troops in 2006. Undertaker said that Punk had referred to himself as “a jiu-jitsu” practitioner and was chalenged to face Lashley and Benjamin, both accomplished amateur wrestlers. Punk said he would make both of them tap out but was then pinned in less than a minute each. Undertaker said this might have been a Vince McMahon effort but he could not remember.

Opinion: This is the kind of story that you only get in wrestling and it makes for a great flashback. Punk thinking that he could hang with someone on the level of a Lashley or a Benjamin is quite impressive, as they are more than skilled enough to scare most people off. The result isn’t the most surprising, but points to Punk for trying to make something like this work.
