Still At It? Update On Drew McIntyre's WWE Status, Why He Is Wanted Back Soon

Come on back? WWE is an international wrestling promotion and as a result, the company tries to run events in different parts of the world. This makes for some interesting situations, as wrestlers from certain countries are given a chance to wrestle in front of their home country crowds. WWE is hoping to do something similar soon, but there are some complications.

According to PW Insider Elite, WWE Creative is hoping to have Drew McIntyre back before July 1 for Money In The Bank in London, England. McIntyre has not been on WWE TV since WrestleMania 39 amid a contract disputed. WWE and McIntyre are said to be at odds over McIntyre’s role, as he does not want to be “aimlessly floating” around as his contract has less than a year to go, as it expires in early 2024. There is no word on when McIntyre will be back, as the two sides are said to be at a standstill.

Opinion: This McIntyre situation is something that hopefully gets fixed in the near future, as McIntyre is far too talented to be sitting on the sidelines. He has been gone for two and a half months now and having him back would be a nice boost to WWE. If McIntyre does not return and his contract expires, he will be the biggest free agent out there, and now all we can do is wait.
