They’re trying. The rise of AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works and that has included a variety of different wrestlers getting another chance to showcase themselves. This has included a variety of modern stars as well as legends, some of whom have barely been seen in a very long time. It seems that AEW has been trying to bring in a legend for a good while to no avail.

AEW’s Billy Gunn appeared on SportsKeeda’s WrestleBinge, where he revealed that AEW had tried to bring in Sean Waltman (better known as X-Pac during his time in WWE) multiple times without success. Gunn said that he believes Waltman still has value as fans know him and he could help the younger talent while also being an ambassador for the company. There is no word on whether Waltman is interested in appearing for AEW. Waltman had a cameo appearance for WWE during this year’s Raw XXX special.

Waltman is a legend. Check out some of his time in WWE:

Opinion: Waltman is the kind of legend who could be brought in for a nice bonus. I don’t know how much he could do in the ring, but he is someone the fans are going to remember and would get a nice reaction. If nothing else, he hasn’t been around much lately and having him there might be a fun moment for the fans. If Waltman can do something good for the company and stick around, it’s even better for everyone involved.

What do you think of the idea? Will Waltman appear for AEW? Let us know in the comments below.
