It could be a lot worse. Earlier this month, Rey Mysterio was forced to vacate the United States Title due to a legitimate shoulder injury. The injury took place at Money in the Bank when Samoa Joe dropped Mysterio on his shoulder, separating it in the process. That’s never a good sign, but it turns out that we already know a lot more about Mysterio’s injury and it might not be as bad as it seems.
Mysterio was recently interviewed by Wrestlinginc.com and stated that he was hoping to return to the ring by the end of June or early July. So far Mysterio has been undergoing PRP treatment and rotation movements to help fix the shoulder injury. Last week, Mysterio returned the United States title to Samoa Joe, making him champion again. At the moment there is no specific date for when he will return to the ring or what he will be doing upon returning.
Mysterio is quite good when he’s healthy. Check him out from before his injury:
Opinion: Mysterio is one of the biggest trailblazers and inspiring wrestlers in history with several wrestlers trying to imitate everything that he did in the ring. While Mysterio is now a shell of what he used to be, he is still better than several wrestlers in the ring today. Hopefully Mysterio can get back and give some younger talents a few more rubs before he heads off into the sunset.
