What did Kane do that made someone so mad? Check out our SmackDown Live results.
According to Knoxnews.com, Kane’s opponent in the August 2 election, Linda Haney, wasn’t happy with Kane wrestling in Omaha, Nebraska with less than a month to go before the election. Haney said that she thought wrestling was behind Kane and that being an entertainer doesn’t make you a political figure. Here are here comments:
“I was really stunned to find out he was still pursuing it. I thought it was in the past. I thought in this crucial time he’d want to be here and be with the people. Being an entertainer doesn’t make you a political figure. It may get you some votes, but I believe people want someone with common sense and who is (ready to lead).”
Kane responded to the comments:
“After I am elected mayor, I’ll be mayor. (Though) I may still do a few special things. I’ve done it for 23 years now and have quite a history, it’ll always be part of my life. I think the question is, if I am taking it seriously, and of course I am. I wouldn’t (be running) if not. I’m sure some people will say that (I’m not focused) and some others will say that’s the coolest thing ever. Again, you can’t make everyone happy. You just do what you can and that’s it … you’re always going to catch criticism no matter what you do.”
Maybe Kane should apologize like this.
Opinion: I can’t go along with what Kane’s opponent is saying here. While it may come off as a little ridiculous looking and beneath a potential mayor to do, wrestling is still Kane’s job and primary source of income. He wrestles very infrequently anymore and an appearance with WWE is going to bring him in some nice revenue, even if it’s just a short term one. Right now, Kane isn’t the mayor and until he is, there is nothing wrong with him earning a living.
Should Kane wrestle while he is a candidate? How much will he work with WWE if he is elected? Let us know in the comments below.
