At this point, there’s so much speculation surrounding Brock Lesnar’s WWE status that any further discussion would just be adding another log onto the fire. It does not seem that Bobby Lashley will face The Beast Incarnate at Summerslam like most fans thought when he returned to the company. However, their match is likely to happen eventually.

WWE officials could book Lashley vs. Lesnar for Survivor Series if the rumors are true that Brock is leaving WWE after Summerslam. Whether it’s in November or at another time, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer had an idea regarding a possible match between Lashley and Lesnar. On paper, they could fight inside “WWE’s Octagon.”

It’s just an idea given that Brock is heavily rumored to return to UFC soon and Lashley does have a history in MMA. WWE’s version of “The Octagon” could create an exciting dynamic, but there are far too many problems for that kind of gimmick match to work.

For starters, Brock Lesnar is expected to fight in UFC again. How silly would he look in an MMA cage style match against Bobby Lashley? On paper, that just seems like an idea that Lesnar would turn down, especially if Brock is going to put him over on his way out of the company. Why would he lose in such a fashion before returning to UFC for real?

Having said that, the concept of The Beast fighting inside an MMA cage for WWE would create an intense atmosphere. In particular, the WWE Universe would be enthralled to see Lashley vs. Lesnar be presented in such a fashion, especially if Bobby were to defeat Brock. Meltzer was just tossing out an idea, but it’s something WWE could actually do.
