Smackdown Women’s Title Match Set for Next Week

If you can’t do either of them the first time, just do them both again. This week on “Smackdown Live”, a second women’s Money in the Bank ladder match was announced for the following week’s show. It turns out that this isn’t the only rematch from “Money in the Bank 2017” and not even the only one from the women’s division.

On this week’s episode, Naomi agreed to defend her Women’s Title against Lana next week in a rematch. The first match ended with Naomi successfully defending her title via submission, but only after Carmella threatened to cash in her Money in the Bank briefcase. Lana blamed her loss on Carmella and wanted a rematch, which Naomi granted.

Opinion: If they’re going to do the big gimmick match again, why not do this one too? I’m not sure what the point is in having a rematch unless they’ve completely changed their minds on the booking, which certainly wouldn’t be that much of a surprise. The first match was good enough and any excuse to have Lana on screen is a good idea.
