Now that’s a milestone. Women’s wrestling has come a long way in the eight or so years since the Women’s Revolution, but that does not mean it was not around beforehand. There have been all kinds of women’s stars throughout WWE’s history, though some of them might have been treated more seriously than others. Now though, a milestone has been reached that covers the entire history.
Over the weekend at NXT Battleground, Tiffany Stratton won a tournament to become the new NXT Women’s Champion, her first championship in the company. According to Queens Of Wrestling on Twitter, the win makes Stratton the 100th woman to win a championship of any kind in WWE. The title was vacated when Indi Hartwell was called up to Monday Night Raw in the WWE Draft.

There have been some great champions over the years. Check out some women to hold gold in WWE:
Opinion: This is one of those little bits of trivia that fascinates me, as I’m almost surprised that only 100 women have held titles in WWE. When you count the original WWF Women’s Titles and Women’s Tag Team Titles, you are already into the thirties, and that isn’t even counting the split brands or NXT. It’s a rather impressive feat, and Stratton’s title reign could go rather well.
What do you think of Stratton’s win? Who is the greatest women’s wrestler in WWE history? Let us know in the comments below.
