Ready to go. Champions are often the most important people on any wrestling roster as they are presented as the biggest stars around. Outside viewers will instantly get the idea that the people with the shiny golden belts are the ones to pay attention to and it can mean a lot to have them on a card. Now that will be the case again, as a reigning champion is off of the injured list.

On March 7 at NXT Roadblock, Roxanne Perez successfully defended her NXT Women’s Title against Meiko Satomura in the show’s main event. Perez collapsed after the match though and was taken away in an ambulance. As a result, the title was put up for grabs in a ladder match at this Saturday’s Stand & Deliver, though Perez was never stripped of the championship. This week, Perez returned and said that she was medically cleared, resulting in NXT executive Shawn Michaels adding her to for Perez’s title. Perez also revealed that she suffers from anxiety, which along with exhaustion, caused her collapse.

Opinion: This is the announcement that seemed to be expected, as Perez had not been stripped of the title in the first place. It is a little strange to see her coming back so soon from such a major angle, but at least they had an explanation and Perez seems to be fine. She is too good to have on the sidelines unless she has to be, so this should be a good boost for the show.
