The first of many. There are all kinds of ways to tell a story in wrestling and occasionally those steps take quite a while to set up. Those stories can be set up weeks or even months in advance, with small details being included that can set up bigger moments later on. WWE may be doing just that which could wind up being one of the more important stories of the year.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: That Thing? Update On Long Forgotten WWE Concept

This weekend at WrestleMania 39, Trish Stratus will team up with Women’s Tag Team Champions Lita and Becky Lynch to face Damage Ctrl. The two teams had a face to face meeting this week on MizTV, during which Stratus was asked how it felt to be Lynch’s backup. While Stratus did not answer, Lita began speaking when Damage Ctrl interrupted. According to Wrestlingnews.co, this may be the first step in a rumored Stratus vs. Lynch feud planned for later this year.

It was an interesting moment. Check out what happened, plus the two teams in action:

Opinion: This very well does seem like the kind of thing that might set up something a lot bigger down the line. WWE does know how to plant these little seeds and it should be interesting to see where it goes, if it goes anywhere at all. If nothing else, the idea of Lynch vs. Stratus is certainly something that could go well, as a battle of the generations s often rather fun.

What do you think of the idea? Was this the first step in a feud? Let us know in the comments below.
