That’s it, twice. There are a lot of groups and teams in AEW and they can go in a lot of different directions. Any of those organizations can do quite a few things and that means you never know what you might be seeing. Some of those things can be very possible, but there are other times where the teams have reached the end of the line. Two of them did so this week.
Two teams split up in one way or another this week on AEW Dynamite. First up, the Gunn Club defeated the Varsity Blonds in a less than thirty seconds. Following the match, Billy Gunn praised his sons’ victory but Stokely Hathaway came out to look at the Gunn Club, who then attacked Billy. The Acclaimed then saved Billy and reunited with him. The show’s main event saw La Faccion Ingobernable lose to Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks. Following the match, Rush and Andrade El Idolo turned on Dragon Lee and laid him out, causing Lee to lose his mask to end the show.
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that you are going to see happen every now and then and it makes things a little more interesting for everyone. The Acclaimed and Billy are a better fit and now they have a reason to get to the desired result. Then you have Lee kicked out of La Faccion Ingobernable so at least there could be a revenge story to be told. Not too bad for two hours of work.
