That’s a long wait. Last night’s SmackDown 1000 was a big deal with two hours of stories and a celebration of the show’s history. One odd moment was to have an Evolution reunion, despite them never actually appearing on the show until then. There was a goal in mind though, with the seeds being planted for a potential Triple H vs. Batista match. So when might that match happen?
According to Dave Scherer on PWInsier Elite Audio by way of Ringsidenews.com, the match might be taking place next October when SmackDown Live officially moves to the FOX Network. The idea would be to have one of the biggest wrestling stars of all time facing off against a movie star and his former Evolution teammate. There is currently no official word on when or if the match will be taking place. SmackDown Live moves to FOX on October 4, 2019.
Oh I think you know what we’re looking at.
Opinion: That’s a cool idea but they might be waiting just a little too long to make it work. That being said, having a person who is becoming an actual name in movies facing the boss of the company is the kind of thing you can hype up very easily and latch on to the mainstream appeal. Maybe it happens and it does make sense, but WrestleMania 35 makes a lot of sense of its own.
Do you think the match will happen? Should they wait until next October? Let us know in the comments below.
