Sometimes a tribute is in order. To say that WWE and SmackDown Live in particular have gotten into the mainstream culture, at least to a certain extent. The word SmackDown is even in Merriam-Webster’s dictionary. People know what it means and that’s going to extend into various other areas, including into the world of music. What better way to celebrate SmackDown 1000 than with a special song?

Yes, even Kenzo Suzuki.

Rapper drops 80+ WWE references in SmackDown tribute

In a new video on its YouTube page, WWE has released a song by rapped Bodie in which he references over 80 different wrestlers or events in the history of SmackDown Live. The video ranges the entire run of the show’s run, from 1999 all the way to modern times. There is a touch of humor to the song with some names from the past being brought up, likely for the first time in years.

Opinion: I’m not big on rap but this kind of thing is awesome. It’s something for the wrestling fans and the kind of thing that you’re not going to get straight from WWE. The references are always cool to hear and you get a lot of memories that you wouldn’t likely think about otherwise. Just being able to get all of those into a three and a half minute song is impressive enough and it’s rather catchy.
